About Us
AMetalúrgica
The past defines our origins. The present reveals what we have become.
Today, we remain a wholly family-owned company, guided by the fifth generation. We possess the industrial capabilities to engineer bespoke technical solutions, driven by a long-term vision focused on evolution and diversification.
Milestones
A legacy shaped by pivotal moments.
A 130-year legacy isn't built without learning to adapt.
1896 — The Foundation
Joaquim Moreira Pinto founds A Metalurgia, initiating the production of cake moulds in Portugal. The artisanal work in tinplate establishes a bond with metalworking that will span generations.
1977 — The Shift
At a moment when the company's future is in jeopardy, Belarmino Ferreira and Agostinho Santos initiate a profound overhaul of methods, design, and production processes. Just a few years later, the business has conquered international markets, exporting 97% of its production by 1982.
Today — The Evolution Continues
Guided by the fifth generation, our accumulated expertise is channelled into the capacity to engineer bespoke technical solutions, diversify applications and tackle emerging industrial challenges with a long-term vision.
Five generations. A legacy of continuous evolution.
Every generation has left its own unique mark. From those who forged the path and overhauled processes, to those who expanded into new markets and those shaping new possibilities today. Throughout our 130-year history, expertise has been passed down, honed and applied to each new challenge.
However, a business is not forged by its leadership alone. It is equally shaped by the people who turn expertise into capability, day in and day out. Individuals who know the processes, master the tools, share their experience and drive our continuous evolution.
It is through this blend of continuity, expertise and people that we shape the future. Technology may evolve, processes may adapt and challenges may shift, but it is ultimately our people who rise to meet them.
